Summer Workshops 2017

I have four separate workshops running this summer. Each is 3 hours long, and each will run on two separate dates so if you can't make one maybe you'll be able to attend the other!

All of the workshops will be taking place at The Theatre Factory at Shrub Hill, Worcester
where there is plenty of parking, and a great working environment!

The application form is at the bottom of the page.
The more you book,  the more you save. It's a great way to study some effective technique whilst having loads of fun
and exploring the inner workings of your voice - whatever your level or musical background!

I look forward to seeing you.

Girl Power

Process to Performance

Ladies often worry that they don't have enough power in the voice, especially in middle register. Or they can't get into chest voice and find power there, whether low down or high up, or they find that when they try to belt, it hurts. (Clue: that's because belting is a whole other thing)!

This workshop will explore ways in which you can access power throughout the voice, without paying the prize in hoarse vocal folds afterwards.

Suitable for singers of all levels but if you're not sure, just message me and we'll chat it through.

Scared to Sing!

I lost count long ago of the number of times have I heard people say "I love music and I would really love to sing but I'm useless / tone deaf / my partner says I'm rubbish and would scare the local wildlife!'

Is that you? Then this is definitely the workshop for you! This one is 'singing for the truly terrified' and I promise you hand on heart you will leave feeling much more confident, hopeful, and with a little twinkle in your eye that says 'maybe I can after all'!
Note: you will not be made to sing on your own - don't panic!
A lot of folks are under the impression that great performers and great singers can 'just do it' and that if you're not a natural, you might as well give up. Not true!

This workshop is designed to show you that there's a process to good performance skills. It would be particularly suitable for anyone who currently sings in a choir and has a hankering to have a go at something as a soloist, in a fun and supportive environment. Always wondered how it would feel to be a lead singer? And why it's so different to group singing? Come and have a go, they can't arrest you for it! No experience necessary, but those wanting to develop existing skills will be welcome.

VQT (Vocalists' Question Time)! Masterclass.

"Now then, where can I get a three-hour singing class with an experienced vocal coach, where they'll work through vocal technique that I specifically want to learn about or explore, for the princely sum of £25?"
Well, this August, you have two opportunities to do just that! The VQT masterclasses are really 3-hour small-group singing lessons where you get to come in and ask whatever you need to know to help you to improve your vocal skills. Take advantage of this while you can, it doesn't happen very often! No problem is too small, and chances are you'll walk away with a bunch of answers and useful tips, tricks and techniques.
